Under the Siege History Short-Sleeve Unisex T-Shirt
$25.00
For the next item in our History series, we salute the Romans as they weathered the Siege of Saguntum (Spain) in 219BC. The drawn out attack by the Carthaginians and its dismal end launched the Second Punic War. There was plenty of time for the politicians in Rome to send aid, but well.... they didn't. Eventually the residents knew the city was lost and that their enemy planned to plunder the city for its wealth and supplies. So the Saguntines made the bravest choice possible: those physically strong enough would remain to sabotage their own city and face certain death by Hannibal and the Carthaginians; those without the physical strength needed would use Roman strength and courage of a different sort to meet the Roman god of death (Dis Pater, Hades for the Greeks) more directly and immediately.
Whether as a reminder of what can happen when ignorant politicians sit on their hands without voices screaming in their ears to move them to action, or as a reminder that no matter what you face - no one can take your dignity or force you down a path you do not choose to walk, this moment in history reminds us to stand tall and proud for who we are. Never let them take that away from you.
The shirt that helps you proclaim it is made of 100% ring-spun cotton and is soft and comfy. The double stitching on the neckline and sleeves add more durability - enough to weather any siege!
• 100% ring-spun cotton
• Sport Grey is 90% ring-spun cotton, 10% polyester
• All Heather colors are 65% polyester, 35% cotton
• Shoulder-to-shoulder taping
• Quarter-turned to avoid crease down the center
Disclaimer: Due to the fabric properties, the White color variant may appear off-white rather than bright white.
